Description Martin Koller 2010-01-25 13:06:26 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Sometimes (e.g. on login when the previous apps are restored), the system tray shows on its left side the "show hidden icons" button, although when I click on it, no other icons appear.
This just confuses and uses some space which is not needed.
(my systray displays 2 rows of icons)

Just wanted to chime in and say I'm experiencing this issue as well, and that it happens on _every_ login/Plasma restart.

I can confirm that this happens on every plasma restart (e.g., login, unplugging power cable, inserting power cable, etc.).
Comment 4 Marco Martin 2010-05-22 15:17:59 UTC
does this still happens in trunk?
Comment 5 Alexey Shildyakov 2011-02-04 13:33:59 UTC
In the KDE 4.6.0 the "Show hidden icons" button won't presen after KDE login if there are no apps in hidden systray.
But. If there are any apps in hidden systray, after exiting from all of them the button still be presented. After click on the button I see small window. If resize it you could see the selection (the lighted part). In this case I think in that case an empty item is presented. So, this bug may be related to bug 246874.

always check the unhide tool

ugh.. this work on the systemtray is getting ugly; i thought it was
going to be all 4.7 work, but it's turning out like i'll probably want
to have it all in 4.6 as well now that i'm 2 days into it :(

should have used a branch. BAD AARON! BAD!
