Description Nicolas Dietrich 2010-01-14 16:07:16 UTC
Version: 4.3.4 (using 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-gentoo-r1

## Problem

Following problem suddenly appeared, I guess when upgrading from 4.3.3 to 4.3.4.

Starting korganizer results in

<unknown program name>(4030)/: Communication problem with "korganizer" , it probably crashed.
Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" "

Starting korganizer --nofork results in
zsh: segmentation fault korganizer --nofork

Clicking the korganizer tab from inside kontact also crashes the whole program.

## Analysis

I found out that the culprit is the holiday setting:

Removing the line "Holidays=de" from the [Time & Date] section of my korganizerrc solved the problem. Selecting a holiday region again via GUI makes the program crash again on the next start.

Furthermore this does only occur to me when "Current View=Month" in the [General] section of korganizerrc.

It might be that the bug only occurs when current view is set to month view (and not day or week view), because there is no holiday today or this week (at least in DE), but this month - but this is just a guess.

Once started it is possible to change to month view and the holidays show up without a crash.

## Related bugs

I guess this is the same bug as bug 197047, but I filed a new bug as the other is "resolved downstream" and I have no permissions to reopen and fear that comments on closed bugs might not be noticed.

Can you paste the backtrace?
Comment 2 Nicolas Dietrich 2010-02-03 21:28:08 UTC
I can't trigger this problem anymore.

I've had this on two machines with a different configuration (one using gentoo/portage on amd64, the other using gentoo/paludis on x86).

Now it's gone on both machines, which just recently got upgraded to KDE 4.3.5.

Marking as fixed.
