Version:           2.2.2 (using 4.3.90 (KDE 4.3.90 (KDE 4.4 RC1)), Kubuntu packages)

When lyrics are loaded, the scroll bar is present and you can see it getting shorter as the text is loaded. But it disappears as soon as the lyrics are fully loaded. There's no way to scroll down the text, so it's impossible to see the lyrics that does not fit in the applet window.
Whatever script is in use, the same thing happens.

I can confirm same behaviour.
Is this bug related to 222260?
