Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When configuring a custom icon for the Kmenu, the aspect ratio of the icon is not preserved. All custom icons are displayed with a 1:1 aspect ration. Please correct this. Thanks!

just so i'm sure i understand you correctly: you want the whole button to stretch out if the icon is in a, say, 2:1 aspect ratio, meaning that if it was on a 32px high panel the button would be 64px wide in that case?

Yes, Aaron, that is what I mean. Look at the Suse default button, I think that it is at least 64px wide.

I do agree that there could be a limit, so that 50:1 icons do not fill the entire panel. Maybe limit the width to 4 times the height, and scale down (while preserving aspect ratio) from there. Of course, in vertical panels the limit would be 1:4 as opposed to 4:1.

Is that acceptable?

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
