The clean button was added to form input fields in 4.2.3.
The changelog says: "Enable clear buttons for line edits. See SVN commits 945667, 945667 and 948589".
But it doesn't shift text from under itself.

1. Open any page in konqueror which has a form with text input (with no styles).
2. Write some long text in that field.
3. The last 2-3 characters will be impossible to read cause they will be covered by the "X" button.
