Description Sascha Jüngling 2009-03-01 03:21:54 UTC
Version:           2.0.1 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Gentoo)
Compiler:          i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-gentoo-r2

Any files which contain special characters (in my case tested with German Umlauts - äöüß) in either their file or pathname, won't be played by amarok. Amarok just won't do anything when starting them to play. This does not affect Umlauts in the ID3 tags.

Don't use the gstreamer backend, it's buggy. Use xine. Please, for the love of god, search for duplicates before submitting reports.

Sorry that I didn't find any dupes, I searched on the bugtracker, forums and asked on IRC and couldn't find anything regarding this issue...

I am using xine (always was) and that bug occurs.

amarok(6292) Phonon::KdePlatformPlugin::createBackend: using backend:  "Xine"
