Very sorry, please ignore the "second observation". I just realize that "Alt" let you to access the menus. Still, I don't understand what is the conflict in creating shortcuts for the menus. > For me, this behaviour is bad: imagine for a minute that your mouse is broken, This is a pretty rare edge case though. Using KDE without a working mouse is possible but would be pretty tough if you're not used to it. A much better reason is just that accessing the menus through the keyboard is probably quicker and more convenient for people who use this feature. > Still, I don't understand what is the conflict > in creating shortcuts for the menus. Any Alt+[Letter] combination may be used by terminal applications and are in practice. At various points in KDE 4's development Konsole had and then did not have menu shortcuts. I got bug reports either way so I think the sensible thing is probably just to provide a setting somewhere. looks like a duplicate of #154755. And in KDE-4.7, you can activate the menubar through keyboard shortcut. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 154755 *** |
