Description jamundso 2009-01-30 03:59:34 UTC
Version: kdelibs-4.2.0-4.fc11.i386 (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

Authoization Dialog prompt for imap accounts, even with "Start with an empty session" selected. Nothing, I repeat nothing, should pop-up a password prompt on an empty desktop. But I should *especially* see nothing when I have "Start with an empty session".

Further testing indicates the key point is that *no network connection is present* when the desktop starts.

Correction - even with a network the prompt appears. The key is the "/usr/bin/kmail -caption KMail" process which starts at login for no reason whatsoever.

The other piece of the puzzle is that this only occurs where the account has IMAP Server via KMail resources in place. I have not yet determined what exec's kmail, however.

Another symptom (annoyance) is for the full Kmail window to be present instead of the Auth. dialog. The extra annoyance there is that Kontact will not include the mail kpart because the window is running.

Sorry, I have no way of testing this on any version of KDE, nor will I at any point in the future.
