Description Joe (theWordy) Philbrook 2008-12-28 21:44:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I create a new user account the <alt>+<F1> shortcut evidently
assigned to "Application Launcher" in the keyboard shortcuts section of
systemsettings under plasma workspace works until the first time that
user account's kmenu is set to the classic kde style menu. At which point
it stops working. (Restoring the Kickoff style menu does NOT restore
functionality to the shortcut, nor does assigning a new key combination
to it in the system settings) But If I create another new user account,
it will work for that account until the first instance of selecting the
classic menu... Since <alt>+<F1> is my prefered shortcut for this I have NOT tested if I can safelychange the shortcut WITHOUT first having set to the classic menu style...

I'm using kubuntu 8.10 which I've reciently installed and updated from official kubuntu repositories via apt-get upgrade.
