Attachments: Patch to initialize lid state on startup

Description Orion Poplawski 2008-11-20 17:47:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

Running laptop "docked" with lid closed and external monitor and keyboard/mouse. During login when guidance-power-manager starts system goes into suspend. GPM is configured to enter suspend when lid is closed, but it needs to consider previous state.

Patch to initialize lid state on startup

I believe this should fix it. Basically copied the var setting from the poll loop, which may be a bit convoluted for the initial state set, but works.

Still present in 4.2.0. Can someone please evaluate this patch and get this fixed? Still applies to 4.2.0.

The "guidance-power-manager" is unmaintained and has been replaced with "Powerdevil". If this issue needs to be addressed in recent KDE versions, such as 4.6.5 or 4.7.x, please add a comment, or report it to "solid/powermanagement" bugzilla product.
