Version: (using KDE 3.5.10)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Something like this could be added to the questions and answers pages of the handbook:

Q) How do I have Konversation automatically mark me as away after a period of inactivity?

A) Auto-away messages are configured on a per-identity basis. To enable auto-away:

1. Choose the "Identities..." option from the "Settings" menu.
2. Choose the identity for which you want to enable auto-away from the drop down list at the top of the dialog.
3. Choose the 'Away' tab
4. Check the 'Automatic away' check box

@ Konversation Developers:

Do you want this to be added to the faq section of the handbook?
Comment 2 Eike Hein 2011-07-20 20:05:08 UTC
Hmm seems to already be in http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-network/konversation/faq.html ...

Yes, it does already seem to be in the handbook. I reported it in 2008 against a version for KDE 3.5 (which I remember fondly). I don't use Konversation (or even KDE) anymore so I can't confirm that these instructions are still applicable.
