The "view" menu is ridiculously short.  It just consists of one submenu "view mode", where you can select one out of three modes.  As the "view" menu is so short, you should rather put the view mode selection right into that menu.

AFAIR this is HIG violation, thus a bug, not a wish.

Remove the View/View mode menu. The options are now available in the View menu.
