When I try to access directories ending with '.d' suffix in Konqueror, It launches a text editor and, then, I receive a message indicating the file could not be read.

It only happens when browsing through fish:// protocol. Access to local folders works well.

This bug was discovered with konqueror 4.1.1 in kde4.1.1

Steps to reproduce:
Open Konqueror
Try to navigate to fish://127.0.0.1/etc/event.d

Obviously 127.0.0.1 can replaced with any remote pc you have access to. This seems to be specific to Konqueror since browisng directories over fish:// in dolphin works fine.

I have also tested this on Kubuntu hardy with konqueror 4.0.3. The bug also exists in this version although with slightly different symptoms. In 4.0.3 Konqueror offers to save the file or open it in Kate. Konqueror seems to believe the directory is some type of source code.

This sounds sort of similar to bug 106648 but I'll leave it to someone with more kde knowledge to decide if they're the same or not.

On KDE 4.1.3, Konqueror 4.1.3 on Kubuntu 8.10 I can use the fish protocol to browse to directories on remote machines such as dotan.d/ and see the contents within. Seems fixed to me.
