Description Colin 2008-09-14 00:17:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Sequence of Events:
Installed latest Kubuntu (8.04) distribution and installed.
Started up, added my library (on my Windows partition) to Amarok.
Enabled Compiz.
Restarted (I don't remember why).
Has numerous problems with setting my desktop settings the way I wanted.
Turned off Compiz.
Restarted.
Tried to play on Amarok and it wasn't playing sound. Tried Kaffeine as well and it also wasn't giving sound. I don't think anything on my system is able to play sounds.
I tried reinstalling linux-sound-base and all alsa packages, including alsa-oss. This did not work.

My drivers are detected by alsa and the volume is turned up. Just no sound.
