Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

After using KMail from KDE 4.1 branch for some time, I've noticed a rather severe regression in ordinary maildir folders.

If the folder contains a lot of email such as 5000, it takes 3-4 seconds to go to a new email. This makes browsing kde-commits folder very painfull.

It seems likely to be some kind of linear scan algorithm, since a folder I have with 17000 email takes a little over 10 seconds to go from email to email.

PS. it is obviously sensitive to the number of emails in the folder. Much larger folders with more data, but fewer emails are much faster.

This is not a scrolling issue. While scrolling is also slow, scrolling is much faster than going to the next email
