Description choco 2008-09-04 12:18:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
OS: FreeBSD
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports

I normally just have a firefox window open and at the same time have knsole open to upgrade my ports. Yesterday after starting the upgrade process of kde4.1 to kde4.1.1 with the portugrade utility, I saw I could not switch between windows anymore by using the alt-tab combination.

And when I minimzed a application like firfox or konsole, I "lost" it completely. It was still running somewhere but I could not get back to it.

I did check that I stayed in the same desktop nr (1 till 4) but I could not find my minimized windows again. Also they didn't shoiw up on my panel below so when alt-tab stopped working I had to ctrl-alt-backspace to shut kde4 off and get a new console where I used screen -R to reattach to the upgrade session. Firefox was gone forever.

Questiona:
1) Where do the windows go when you minimize them and they don't show up in the panel?
2) Why does alt-tab stop working?

Sorry, but the KDE bug tracking system is not an user forum.
