Version:           2.10.999 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.0 (4.1 >= 20080722)) "release 26.4", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Compiler:          gcc

As descripted above the extraction of archives fails. But unlike to other bugs there is no error-report or anything like that. It just tries to extract, obviously aborts and if Dolphin is ordered to open a created  folder, I get an error like "file or folder doesn't exist" in Dolphin. 

Annoying.

Yes, kde4.1 ark is incomplete and buggy. I have spent a lot of time fixing bugs and polishing it up, backporting bugs to 4.1.1, and implementing missing features for kde 4.2.

Both zips and tar.gz files work with these versions, but if you find a specific archive file that doesn't work, please post it here and I will reopen the bug.
