Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I have the same issue on debian. When I login with Yahoo, the kopete immediate
disconnect with a pop-windows "17 - remote host closed connection".

kopete is 0.50.80 using KDE 4.1.00

catbot@catbot-desktop:~$ dpkg -l|grep kdebase
ii kdebase 4:4.1.0-1 base applications from the official KDE rele
...

catbot@catbot-desktop:~$ dpkg -l|grep kopete
ii kopete 4:4.1.0-1 instant messenger for KDE 4

If I use Pidgin, all is fine. but the kopete always can not connect.

In addition, I have two yahoo account.

One have few friends, and another have many friends(about 100).

If I login with the one having few friends, everything is fine.

If I login with the one having many friends, the kopete can login, but after about 10 seconds, the kopete disconnect the host with a pop-window "17 - remote host closed connection".

If I login with the one having many friends when my most friends is offline, I can login without any error.

Seems this is a timeout-relevant issue.

I'm having the exact same issue here. My list has about 250 contacts. In gaim it works just fine, same for the official yahoo client, but kopete gets disconnected a few seconds after connecting.
If there's anything I could do to help you solve this issue, I'd be glad to.

Also, my ignore list appears in a "(Unnamed group)" in my buddy list.
