When you open a compressed archive (e.g. .tgz), any directories inside are shown in a "collapsed" view rather than an "expanded" one.  That's fine if there are several things inside, but it is just an annoyance if all the file contains is a single directory (as is the case with the vast majority of tarballs full of source code).

I suggest that in such cases, that top-level directory be displayed as "expanded" by default.

I dont understand how can this be considered a bug!

So far from all compressed file managers i havent seen a single one that would open the first level folders by default, only in Ark was introduce this so called "feature", that to my eyes is simply a bug.
