Description Pavel Zheltobryukhov 2008-07-23 20:23:52 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

If window effects are disabled, after confirmed logout, the screen become empty and white for 2-3 second, before X shutdown. It's very uncomfortable, especially if you working in the dark. If window effects are enabled, there is no any "white screens" after logout, but KDE session start very long time in this case. Moreover, I have no reason to use any window effect.

I use KDE 4.0.4 from OpenSUSE 11.0 RPMs

I suppose just something like xsetroot should do.

I switch to old 'i810' videodriver instead 'intel' and turn window effects on with enabling only one 'logout' effect. No "white screens" at logout here. The KDE session launched normally, without big delays.
