Description Sebastian Turzański 2008-07-18 10:43:24 UTC
Version: nieznana (using 4.00.98 (KDE 4.0.98 (4.1 RC1)) "release 7.1", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.9-0.2-default

I couldn't find knotify in apps list so I just selected "unknown"

In 4.1beta2 knotify used to work but it crashed, now in 4.1RC1 I can hear no sound notifications - even In configurations I can't test the sound I set.

Is any other media player that uses Phonon (Juk or Amarok2) playing the music ?
Have you tried with selecting another backend for Phonon in the Sound Settings ?
Have you tried to select to use an external player (like "play" from SOX) instead of the KDE Sound System (phonon) ?

now with kde 4.1 final I tested phonon with Xine backand and it works.

I run gsteamer config tool to check if my card is chosen corectly and it is, even though, gstreamer backed for phonon does not work for me

Have you experienced this bug again with a recent KDE version? (4.1.3 / 4.2beta2 / 4.2svn) ? Thanks :)
