It may beeasier and more secure to install the debug symbols and provide a more detailed backtrace. You'll find instructions on this page : http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports On Thursday 10 July 2008, Christophe Giboudeaux wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] I don't have a konqueror-dbg for my Kubuntu (8.04), but I installed a few *dbg* libs : kdepimlibs-dbg kdebase-dbg-kde4 kdeutils-dbg-kde4 kdebase-runtime-dbg kde4libs-dbg I also tried to run konqueror with gdb, but don't seem to be able to reproduce the problem now. However, while using gdb, I constantly get the following message : konqueror(9818): Failed to lock file "/var/tmp/kdecache-dc/kpc/kde-icon-cache.lock" I tried to create the file, made sure it was owned by me, etc. But I'm still getting this error message. I still can't pass the login page (this page comes back as if I didn't entered the password), but it doesn't crash anymore. Hi! Can you test that page using the new KDE 4.2 beta1? The visible parts of the backtrace look like bug 165732 (and bug 181485, which was reported for 4.2 RC 1). Definitely a duplicate, methinks. bad bz, bad... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 165732 *** |
