menu is misplaced when reaching screen height

I often see menu so long (and more) as screen height but never with such effect. ss follows.

I often see ... in KDE3. The misplaced menu is from KDE4.

This seems to be QT bug. I tried with "asssitant" (qt app), and when there's no more space below (if the window is positioned in the bottom of the screen), the menu goes above the whole window.

However, the "Tools" menu in Kate seems to be a special case, as it is really large, and for displaying it above the window (and not in the right of the "Tools" item in the menubar) the window have to be completely at the bottom (near the panel)

As a proof of this you can create a window using the Qt Designer, then adding a lot of menu items, and then previewing it. You can move the window vertically and observe the different behaviours.
