Description Sergio Rafael Lemke 2008-06-27 21:40:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.80)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

Some apps, like kopete and superkaramba, are using a window titled "get new stuff" to get thinks directly from the web, like emoticons for kopete and themes for superkaramba, every time an app. requires this "get new stuff" windows it freezes the KDE Desktop, no way to restart X or hold up a ssh connection, only thinks i can see at the start is lots of "kio_http" via top. on terminal. Sometimes i can see kio_imapd(or something like this) eating lots of system resources, this last only when i have kmail open.

Steps to reproduce:
kopete >> settings >> chat window >> emoticons >> manage emoticons >> Get new themes. Thats it, check out what happens on a terminal.
If everything goes fine with the kopete test try to get new stuff with superkaramba (just run superkaramba and get new themes with him, you system will become inusable.

Thanks,
Sergio Rafael Lemke
