Version: onbekend (using 3.5.9 "release 53.4" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22.17-0.1-default

When I'm tying a message in a message field (e.g. kate, kmail) the text direction magically flips to right-to-left by some magic key combination. I've been bitten by this multiple times without knowing how to revert this.

Preferable, the text direction shouldn't switch at all for English texts.

I've seen this happen twice in kmail as well and it happens all the time for me in KDevelop's navigation-combobox thats inside the toolbar. I don't even need to press a key-combo, just focussing it via keyboard shortcut and then typing something switches to RTL.

Is this bug report still valid?

I haven't seen gotten this in KDE 4 anymore. I don't have multiple locales, but neither did I have those with KDE 3.
