Description atlas 2008-06-23 18:23:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.5)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

When KDE 4 start-up and I try to start an application (i.e. to open a terminal), sometimes the system (KDE) freezes. I have to press Alt-Ctrl-Backspace to restart the X-server and to login again. This crash does not happen if I wait a sufficient amount of time, (i.e. more than a minute), which, however, is quite annoying.

How do you start the app? with krunner, using kickoff or with links from the desktop? Are you using desktop effects?

I'm not using any Desktop effects at all! I start the apps using links from the panel. I'll try krunner the next time to see if this makes any difference.

I updated yesterday to kdelibs-4.0.5-2 and it seems that the problem has been fixed!
