Description Stefan Majewsky 2008-06-21 16:29:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.80)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I would like to be able to enter multiple words at once like I do at Google. For example, let's assume I enter "Web browser". Currently, only results that contain the string "Web browser" are shown, but not results like "Webbrowser" and "Web-Browser" (these strings appear for example in the German localization I'm using).

Another desired behavior would be the ability to search in descriptions and in program names at the same time. Imagine someone is looking for Gwenview, but does only know that it is an image viewer with "wen" in the name. He could then enter "image wen" and find Gwenview. (If he only entered "wen", he would only find a big bunch of applications, esp. in German where "user" is "Anwender" and "program/application" is "Anwendung".)

you do realize how many machines google dedicates to doing nothing but processing your queries, right? and that they don't do much as-you-type results?

some of these things are plausible, but keeping krunner responsive on rational hardware trumps things like "try N different permutations of the input and rank the results"

Marking as fixed.

Multiple words can be searched for. If any particular word combination isn't working for you, please file a new bug. "Web Browser" seems to give me correct results.
