Description Maciej Pilichowski 2008-06-15 13:37:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.82)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

KMenu: is shown next to the panel not to the KMenu icon

when the panel is big this leaves a lot of space, user has to move the mouse far away.

KMenu

Yes, it "works" for Kickoff too.

actually, this happens for all popups in the panel. it's completely intentional, since overlapping them onto the panel causes other issues. the "solution" here is really to ensure that the icon is always on the panel edge.

Context menu appears at the icon and I don't see any issues.

And about icon placement -> no!
a) you cannot guarantee it with mature panel (think: rows)
b) user could like (me) to have bigger panel, but smaller icons

Anyway, I don't see a reason why I should move mouse so much, when the context menu appears right at spot (and this is useful). After all, I am not asking KDE for showing menu for panel, but menu for icon (KMenu, app, etc.).

It is not panel menu.
