Description Maciej Pilichowski 2008-06-14 15:11:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.82)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

plasmoid toolboxes: if possible maintain position

Steps:
1) add plasmoid near left, upper corner
2) make the toolbox appear
3) note that the toolbox cannot show up at left, upper corner (this is ok)
4) move the plasmoid to the center of the screen
5) make the toolbox appear
6) note the toolbox is at the left, upper corner BUT it could be displayed as before

Wish: if possible, maintain the position of the toolbox even if "the standard" position is available. Reason: not needed extra effort from the user (since I zoomed also the plasmoid it took me a while of thinking why the border is now so thin).

Hey Maciej !

Aaron has commited some code who take care of this
Can you update your svn and say us if the problem is still present for you ?

ps : the name of this "toolbox" is : applet handle
Comment 2 Maciej Pilichowski 2008-07-13 13:06:46 UTC
Nice solution! It would be great though to extend it further (and logically) so the handles (thank you) would not be only in vertical but horizontal as well.

So now matter how you move your mouse you would always get applet handles.

PS. Especially when you realize that plasmoids can be rotated, after 45o rotation it is hard to tell (right away) where the handles will appear (currently).

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
