Description Rafał Miłecki 2008-06-05 10:00:59 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

This "feature" was introduced in:
http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=806773
http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=808855

I'm webdeveloper using many applications at once and I need many virtual desktops to manage that. I use displaying names in pager and I named my desktops as: "browsers", "code", "gimp", "chat", "other". It means 5 virtual desktops.

Up to now it was really easy to use virtual desktops. When I needed to do browsers test I just looked for "browsers" in pager and clicked it. Unfortunately after mart's changes text description is not displayed until I hover desktop in pager. This forces me to use one of theses two solutions:
1) Remember position of each virtual desktop
2) Hover desktops in pager one by one to find proper one

I agree new effect is nice but in breaks usability. Can we revert this patch or corrent this somehow? I hope you can see my point.

SVN commit 817342 by rmilecki:

With this patch text opacity is changed between 0.5 and 1.0 only. This
means text is never hidden but it still has animation for hovering.
