Product: [Applications] digikam Reporter: Dik Takken <kde>
Component: ColorManagement-ViewsAssignee: Digikam Developers <digikam-bugs-null>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Version: 0.9.4
Target Milestone: ---
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Latest Commit: Version Fixed In: 1.0.0

Description Dik Takken 2008-06-03 21:16:37 UTC
Version:           0.9.4-beta4 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
OS:                Linux

When DigiKam or ShowFoto is closed, the three toggles in the bottom-right corner of the editor are reset to 'disabled'. These toggles are:

* Color managed view on/off
* Display overexposure on/off
* Display underexposure on/off

It happens that I'm editing without color management turned on without knowing it. As soon as I notice that the color management has been disabled by DigiKam, I turn it back on and re-do all of the work I did after I started DigiKam.

Please have DigiKam remember the state of these toggles.

Dik,

Really... I use CM here, and nothing is lost between session (i cannot imaging to set all at each session (:=)))

Note : settings is saved in you digikamrc file

My digikamrc says:

[Color Management]
BPCAlgorithm=true
BehaviourICC=false
CMInRawLoading=false
DefaultPath[$e]=$HOME/.icc
EnableCM=true
InProfile=0
InProfileFile[$e]=
ManagedView=true
MonitorProfile=3
MonitorProfileFile[$e]=/usr/share/apps/digikam/profiles/srgb-d65.icm
ProofProfile=2
ProofProfileFile[$e]=$HOME/.icc/fsnEnduraSupraLustreV2.icc
RenderingIntent=0
WorkProfileFile[$e]=/usr/share/apps/digikam/profiles/srgb.icm
WorkSpaceProfile=8

Still, Digikam and Showfoto always start with color managed view turned off.

Giles, on my system, every time I restart digikam, all three buttons in the lower right corner go back to disabled. Every single time. I start digikam, select an image for editing, check the buttons in the lower right corner, note that they are off, click on them to enable them. Then, the very next time I close the image, close digikam, and restart digikam and select an image for editing, the buttons are on "disable." Every single time.

I am using Debian Lenny 64-bit, digikam 0.9.4-beta5 installed locally at /usr/local/digikam094b5, using kde 3.5.9. Perhaps there is an issue with debian? lenny? 64-bit? local? I also have digikam 0.9.3 using kde 3.5.9 installed via debian synaptic. The exact same thing happens with 0.9.3 - the buttons don't stay on "enabled" between digikam sessions. Restaring digikam resets the buttons - under-exposed over-exposed and color management - back to disabled.

I'm on 32-bit Gentoo here.

The color managed view part here is duplicate of that other bug I just closed.
I confirm the over/underexposure problem.
