This is reproductable at least in KDE 3.5.8 and 3.5.9:
Go to the planetKDE feed, find a post called "BugDays: Why Konqueror?" by blauzahl and open it in a *new tab*, then find the link called "the bugzilla stats" if you hover it it'll open a floating preview menu. Click in the Gear, it's a customization panel; click save and then quickly move the mouse out of the pop up and click outside the dialog, now the small baloon has to be hid when you're prompted if you want to open or save the file (weird enough), no metter what you click it'll crash aKregator.
The bug was found by PovAdict i'm just reporting it, kudos for him :).

Does this still happen with a recent Akregator ? If so, could you provide a backtrace following instructions on this page : http://techbase.kde.org/Contribute/Bugsquad/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
