Description Toralf Förster 2008-05-12 17:56:45 UTC
Version: 1.9.7 (using 3.5.8, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-gentoo-r8

If I select my inbox and "close" KMail into the tray and now an email arrives then KMails beeps as expected to indicate a newly arrived mail however I do not see a bold number within the tray icon of KMail to indicate a newly arrived message. So if I was out of the room during the beep I'm not informed about new messages :-(

BTW I set the time frame to mark a message as read to 1 seconds.

Do you keep your inbox empty (i.e. move read messages into another folder?) If so, then this is another duplicate of bug 125743.
Comment 2 Toralf Förster 2008-05-13 10:53:03 UTC
yes, I move read mails other subfolder. Furthermore I have some rules to sort incoming mails into subfolder of my inbox. With those subfolders I've the same behaviour.
BTW for 1 seconds I see the bold "1" within the tray icon and KMail beeps, after that the "1" is gone.
But anyway it is a duplicate.
