Description Nikos Papadopoulos 2008-04-23 18:08:27 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

The idea is simple:
to have a way so that kosole can use "kwrite's highlight patterns",
in order for the text in konsole to appear highlighted, accordingly.

comparison of the same type of text:

Picture situation:
Before uploading a translation file (.po) to the svn,
I have to use "svn diff" command,
in order to make a check up.
It would make my work easier and faster,
if the text was highlighted, like in kwrite.

I assume that other programmers and users
would benefit from this,
and not just translators.

This might be better implemented as a terminal application which the output of other commands can be piped through. In fact - I think there are several applications like this in existence though I don't know of any which use Kate/KWrite's syntax highlighting descriptions.

I think this is really beyond the responsibility of konsole or any terminal emulators. Konsole is supposed to display the contents as it is.
