Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

CUPS has a nice feature to mirror printouts e.g. for t-shirt-transfer-slides or for overhead projector slides.

This can be accessed via lpr -o mirror but there's no such option in kde-print dialog.
Comment 1 John Layt 2008-04-22 22:49:39 UTC
This will not be added as a specific option to the dialog in the 3.5 series, as this would be a new feature and not a bug-fix. I am working on enhancements to 4.1 that will include this option in the dialog.

The good news however is that you can easily do this in 3.5 by going into the print dialog and choosing the tab for "Additional Tags" where you can enter up to 10 extra CUPS options, in this case just enter "mirror" into the Name column and leave the Value column empty.

Hmmm, I'd close this as WONTFIX, but I don't have authority to do so. Guess I'd better go ask for that...

Thanks for the statement.

Your hint about custom options did not work for me. I tried that before I did the report.

But it's okay, if this is done for 4.x, everything's fine. It's not an everyday-need. :)
Just get 4.1 out soon. *scnr*

Bernd,

John Layt's advice was incomplete.

You'd need to add "mirror" to the left column, and "true" to the right column of the "Additional Tags" tab for said feature to work from kprinter.
Comment 4 John Layt 2008-06-06 21:09:31 UTC
The mirror option has now been implemented for KDE 4.1, and with Kurt's correction to my advice working for KDE 3, then this bug is now sorted.
