Description Matthew 2008-04-18 02:08:47 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: GCC 4.3.0
OS: Linux

When I add application icons to my Plasma panel, and the panel is smaller than "Normal," then there is unused space in between the icons. It appears that the center points of the icons remain constant as they shrink. Thus, the smaller the panel, the more wasted space.

Steps to reproduce:
Add application icon to panel
Make panel smaller than "Normal"

Version is KDE 4.0.69 with slim-glow theme. I have tested with default theme and had same issues.

Note: When I say smaller, I mean thickness, not the length across the screen.

same is true for Version 4.00.80 (KDE 4.0.80 >= (KDE 4.1 Beta1) "release 4.1 from openSUSE

When the panel size is decreased, the icons resize, but do not change their position on the panel. This leaves big gaps between individual icons

this has been fixed in latest beta packages from openSUSE, so I guess it has been taken care of
