Hi, i think it would be very useful to do some changes to the w3 validation plugin shipped with konqueror. Actually if you want to check a site you have to go to tools, the to validate web page and finally select what you want to validate. This then will query the w3 site and show the response.
First of all, you need an internet connection. Ok, you're developing a web site so it would be normal to have internet, but if you're working while you're somewhere where you can't connect you can't validate a page.
The nice solution would be something like a firefox plugin: http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/ which uses two different algorithms (Tidy and OpenSP) to check a page...and everything without ask anything to the w3c site, so it works without a connection, very useful.
The last thing would be nice to have the possibility to have the validation somewhere very fast to read (eg the statusbar), maybe not by default, but this would be great for everyone who need to develop a validate site
