The main window is too large in the Y dimension to fit on a default 1024x768 KDE desktop.

This is caused by the crappy todo view.  Thomas Thrainer is rewriting that view using model/delegates.  I have his code installed locally and it works pretty well, but it isn't complete yet.

In the meantime you can turn off the todo view sidebar.
