Description Henrik Segesten 2008-02-25 09:27:38 UTC
Version: 2.0 (using KDE 4.0.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: GCC 4.1.2
OS: Linux

In the olden days of Konsole/Yakuake in KDE 3.5 the title of each tab refledted what was going on in that terminal session. Eg. if I was installing something with portage it would show "emerge yadayada (3 out of 5) etc...". The new and awesome Konsole/Yakuake is not so verbose. In the portage example in only shows "home:emerge". This functionality is sorely missed or am I just missing some configuration here?

Hi,

Go to Settings -> Edit Current Profile -> Tabs

Clear the "Local Tab Title" box, click the Insert button and select "Window title set by shell" from the drop down menu.

Depending on your shell setup, the default "directory : program" tab title might be more useful most of the time. If you want to change a tab's title temporarily you can do so via Edit -> Rename Tab. In the input window that appears, you can mix plain text with dynamic elements %d (directory), %n (name of program) and %w (window title from shell)
