This happens to me as well. I am running an xinerama dual monitor system with the nvidia driver version 173.14.05 and currently have KDE 4.0.83 (beta2) installed. But this was also happining with 4.0.80. I get this crash as well. Here is the backtrace: (no debugging symbols found) [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0x7ff06367b780 (LWP 14388)] (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [KCrash handler] #5 0x00007ff061250095 in raise () from /lib/libc.so.6 #6 0x00007ff061251af0 in abort () from /lib/libc.so.6 #7 0x00007ff06313d6d5 in qt_message_output () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #8 0x00007ff06313d7fd in qFatal () from /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4 #9 0x00007ff058f4ad6b in ?? I have had this bug with 4.1.2 and now with 4.1.3. I too have System Settings crash when trying to use the "Display" option. The only thing I can think of is that I have a triple-screen setup using a dual-output 8600 and an older GeForce4MX. The 8600 is using the "nvidia" driver, while the GeForce4MX is using the "nv" driver. *** Bug 171467 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This bug is still present in KDE 4.2. using dual monitors, nvidia driver 180.27 Application: System Settings (systemsettings), signal SIGSEGV 0x00007f7698161d90 in __nanosleep_nocancel () from /lib/libc.so.6 Thread 1 (Thread 0x7f769ba18750 (LWP 2923)): [KCrash Handler] #5 0x00007f7689a2c4e0 in RandRDisplay::isValid () from /usr/lib64/kde4/kcm_randr.so #6 0x00007f7689a28a45 in LegacyRandRConfig::load () from /usr/lib64/kde4/kcm_randr.so #7 0x00007f7689a27479 in KRandRModule::load () from /usr/lib64/kde4/kcm_randr.so #8 0x00007f769a8cd825 in KCModule::qt_metacall () from /usr/lib64/libkdeui.so.5 #9 0x00007f7699c7c015 in QObject::event () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #10 0x00007f7698d99486 in QWidget::event () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4 #11 0x00007f7698d4796d in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4 #12 0x00007f7698d4f6da in QApplication::notify () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4 #13 0x00007f769a82d08b in KApplication::notify () from /usr/lib64/libkdeui.so.5 #14 0x00007f7699c6d120 in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #15 0x00007f7699c6ddc1 in QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendPostedEvents () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #16 0x00007f7699c955e3 in postEventSourceDispatch () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #17 0x00007f76954e66f1 in g_main_context_dispatch () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #18 0x00007f76954e9e6d in g_main_context_iterate () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #19 0x00007f76954ea02b in g_main_context_iteration () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #20 0x00007f7699c9526f in QEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #21 0x00007f7698dd5fef in QGuiEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4 #22 0x00007f7699c6ba42 in QEventLoop::processEvents () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #23 0x00007f7699c6bbcd in QEventLoop::exec () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #24 0x00007f7699c6e07d in QCoreApplication::exec () from /usr/lib64/qt4/libQtCore.so.4 #25 0x0000000000411c87 in main () 169470 is probably the same bug *** Bug 169470 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 192129 *** |
