If I print http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/a/a5/EKD2.png as  portrait everything works fine. If I switch to landscape the picture seems to be zoomed to a degree that only a few millimeters are actually printed on the sheet and those are squished vertically.

In both modes "fit image to page" is enabled.

I tried printing from gewnview and okular, same result.

There is no KDEPrint in KDE 4.0.

okular and gwenview in kde4. Works perfectly from within kde3's konqueror or gwenview.

Can you still reproduce this bug with a recent KDE and QT version? (KDE 4.1 or 4.0.5 and QT 4.4)
This may be related to bug 155696
