I have a Sieve script that adds two flags to messages if SpamAssassin thinks they’re spam, "Junk" and "$IGNORED". Junk is for Thunderbird and $IGNORED is for KMail. (Is there an IMAP flag that KMail would recognize as spam?)

For some reason those messages add up to the unread count. Even when I open such a message and delete it, KMail shows one unread message in my Trash folder and the tray icon shows 1 also. When I select the Trash folder, the unread message marker immediately disappears but returns the next time mail is checked.

Is there a workaround? Or, is there another way to tell KMail that a message is spam by using IMAP flags?

WBR, Roman.
