Description Gary Thompson 2008-01-17 16:45:57 UTC
Version: 0.9.3 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 4.1.2
OS: Linux

How to Reproduce: Using Canon EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT in US, I think): Take photos in JPG OR RAW mode, then some more photos in RAW+JPG. When you go to Camera -> 350D to download, you should find that when the thumbnails are being downloaded for the RAW+JPG sets, the download process freezes and data is no longer being sent from the camera.

Well, when trying to get more information for what was a bug, I just found gphoto2 is what is crashing (only during thumbnail view).

I've changed this to a wishlist item: Currently, digikam simply hangs but it would be nicer if it stopped attempting to download thumbnails and popped up an error messages. Downloads still work, however.

Should be able to reproduce with any Canon camera that can take RAW+JPG.

I apologise if still including this is annoying, I had come so far in this bug report to give up already.

a size check had problems, the cr2 size of 3MB was too large for it.

I fixed the canon driver in libgphoto2 svn trunk.
