Description Samir van de Sand 2008-01-17 01:59:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Kickoff application launcher has a in my opinion uncomfortable behavior regarding searches. Here's an example:

1. I click in the Kickoff menu application launcher and find myself in the "favorites" tab.
2. I decide to search for the application "kate" via the Kickoff menu bar at the top.
3. In the search results I find the application "kate" and start it.
4. After launching kate I want to start another application, which resides in the "favorites" tab. When I click on the "favorites" tab nothing happens. Instead I have to click on another tab like "computer" and then click on the "favorites" tab again.

What I'm doing in step 4 is very cumbersome. For going back from the search results to the "favorites" tab where I've been before a desirable behavior would be just a click on the tab.

I can confirm that this behaviour is not very comfortable. I would expect that the search results are either deleted when the menu disappears or that there is an own tab for search results.

This is fixed with commit r761346 in trunk and got backported to 4.0 with r765921. Thanks for the feedback.
