About #1, I already requested icons for the "Contents" page (both LRT and RTL versions), so in the meanwhile I had to use something that "looks close" (instead of a big question mark as icon). #1, #2, #4 and #5 are more for the artists (CC'ed), while #3 is mostly our problem. As for #4, Okular should use the go-next/go-previous icons at the bottom of the main view. As for #5, I'm really not sure about what to do about this... if we introduce a third (!) set of arrow icons, how would they look, should they be naming spec compatible with the current ones (per fallback) and where to draw the line between using the one of the other? I throwed this into the naming spec discussion long ago, but it is yet to be determined if distinguishing icons in that way is a good thing or just confusing for users and developers. Also "Reload" action I think is more related with file opening, not with saving, so it could be grouped with open commands. Or it may be moved to the View menu like it is in konqueror or dolphin @ixius: No, as the "Reload" action reloads (as in close and open again) the file, while the "Reload" actions in konqueror or dolphin reloads (as in refreshing the contents) the view (all or just the active, don't remember). Well, for me "Reload" serves the same function in all cases: reload file in okular to see file changes, reload web page in konqueror to see web page changes, reload dolphin to see file system changes. Of course this function also related with file operations, so it could remain in File menu. The main point of my previous post was that "Reload" function should not be grouped with save function, because they are not related Created attachment 25440 [details]

I think at least in the left sidebar, the icons could be improved. 1. Use the icon currently used by Layers for Contents, because Contents currently looks like linear text, not like a list. 2. Use a layer icon for Layers, because that’s what it means. Contents currently uses format-justify-left (format-justify-right for LTR layout), Layers currently uses format-list-unordered. Layers could use e. g. dialog-layers, like in Inkscape. |
