For the newly implemented vector views:
The flag vector can be used to exclude specific points
from the input vectors.
If a flag vector is specified and a specific point has 
a zero value then the corresponding point in the input 
vectors will be discarded.
If a flag vector is specified and a specific point has 
a non-zero value then the corresponding point in the input 
vectors will be included, assuming it also fits the
constraints of the view range.

The flag vector in vector view seems to do the opposite. The indices of non-zero points in the flag vector indicate that the data points of the input vector with the same indices will be filtered out in its vector view.
