orignially posted in launchpad: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-systemsettings/+bug/164760 I'm not entirely sure this is a bug in KDE 4 RC2. If you select your location as United States, then yes, it does change to Imperial measurements. The location and language settings do not seem to be connected. For example, I have it set to US English, seeing as this is the only language available by default, but, I have the location set to UK because I want metric units. If I change the location (by clicking the link above the Language selection list) to United States, then the measurements do change to Imperial. I wonder if this is then a bug against Kubuntu's packages, will follow up there. As my setting to US English keeps the measurement in Metric. An example is that temperature read by the KWeather Applet reads in Celsius until I change them to Imperial. Thank you for the feedback/follow up Just to clarify, setting the 'language' to US English does NOT alter the measurement units. However, setting your location to USA does change them to Imperial (on my setup at least: now using svn r749889). I don't think this is a bug seeing as many people outside the US use US English, particularly at this stage since it is the only language easily available. And, when you set the "location" to USA, it does correctly change the units to Imperial. Then please feel free to mark this bug as not a bug and I will follow up w/ Kubuntu to see what is going on there. Thanks again for the follow up Jonathan Then please feel free to mark this bug as not a bug and I will follow up w/ Kubuntu to see what is going on there. Thanks again for the follow up Jonathan |
