Reaching configure options is far from obvious.

IMHO, a nice way to get to them would be adding a new icon to those shown when pressing the `?' button.

I attach such an icon.

Yeah, i agree, the problem is that your artwork, while cool can not be integrated correctly, as i'm very bad at drawing, it would be nice if you could grab http://websvn.kde.org/*checkout*/trunk/KDE/kdeedu/blinken/images/blinken.svg and modify it accordingly.

SVN commit 758083 by aacid:

Provide an easier way to reach the configuration window, will be in KDE 4.1 because it needed a new string and we were too late in the process to add a new string
