The new Gwenview (compiled from SVN, mar nov 13 22:40:35 CET 2007) is noticeably slower while loading the images than the stable 1.4.2 version (on the same system).
It seems that the new version load entirely the image before showing it. Gwenview 1.4.2 show the image little by little that is better for the user experience :-)

The new version seems to be a lot more quick to load the images. I'm closing this. I can see a great performance improvement since last year!!!
