Open the following URL http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1145317 and attempt to scroll the page by either using the mouse wheel or by dragging the scrollbar - CPU usage jumps to 100% (my machine has a 3.2 Ghz P4 with 2Gb RAM), the page redraw is very slow, one can see the it being redrawn in rectangles. No problems with Firefox 2 on the same machine.
Comment 1 Tommi Tervo 2007-09-28 14:09:20 UTC
Cannot reproduce, page scrolls fine in my low end machines: (tested with IBM T20 P3 700Mhz 256MB and opensuse kdelibs3 3.5.7-71, Athlon 700Mhz 400MB and kubuntu feisty).

Which video card and driver do you use?
Comment 2 Vadym Krevs 2007-09-28 23:00:21 UTC
NVIDIA Quadro NVS280 with the latest Nvidia proprietary driver.
Comment 3 Maciej Pilichowski 2007-09-28 23:12:16 UTC
Here scrolling is very smooth (using scrollbar), but CPU indeed goes to 100%. Intel CPU 2GHz, intel 950 integrated chipset.
Comment 4 Stefan Monov 2007-10-09 10:24:24 UTC
Here scrolling is choppy at first (~7 seconds), taking up 50% CPU, but then becomes smooth with 0% CPU. AMD Sempron 2300+, GeForce 5500 FX, the closed nvidia drivers.
Comment 5 Linus Östberg 2008-04-19 19:26:48 UTC
About 50% CPU used while browsing the page, but scrolling is not choppy. (Turion 64, 2*1.6 GHz (at 800 MHz during testing), Konqueror 3.5.9 and 4 (trunk, r798696)).

Works for me as well in both 3.5.9 and 4.0.3. No lag that I can see. I'd recommend closing this.

Using Gentoo Linux ~x86 (testing in gentoo lingo). KDE 3.5.9/4.0.3 and the majority of packages compiled using gcc 4.3.0.
